In a tweet that has subsequently been deleted, Reggie Evans laughed at the idea of the Knicks winning the NBA title this year.
In an interview with Marc Berman of the New York Post, J.R. Smith said he is “100% sure” that the Knicks would win it all in 2013-14. Smith was then asked why he joined the Knicks over the Nets when he came back from China in February 2012.
“The Nets weren’t good,’’ Smith said. “Now they’re still not good.’’
Evans responded to a tweet from the Twitter account @NBARumors with a simple retort:

Brian ErniSo much for easing up on the rivalry, huh, Commissioner Stern?
I think this is awesome. Let’s get on the court right now. J.R. Smith doesn’t think the Nets are good? Okay, let’s go see who’s the best team in New York. And that’s the best feeling you can have as a fan of your team. In a macro context, think about this: did you ever think you’d see a day where the Knicks and their fans cared so much about the Nets? Whether the Dolans, the MSG faithful, or the players in orange-and-blue like it or not, the Nets are on the map. It’s almost time for Brooklyn to make all the hype stand up.
