#Knicks Amar’e Stoudemire: “If We Have To Go Through #Brooklyn, We Have To Go Through Brooklyn”

Amar’e Stoudemire

Today, NBA TV had their cameras up at the Knicks practice facility in Greenburgh, New York.

Afterward, NBA TV’s Rick Kamla had Amar’e Stoudemire of the New York Knicks on the set and asked Stoudemire a few questions.

Obviously, the Brooklyn Nets came up…

This is what was said:

Rick Kamla: Amar’e, before we let you go, just a quick word on the opener. On TNT, against the Brooklyn Nets. They’ve obviously gotten a lot better, your Knicks got better. This is a true rivalry now, right? Are you looking at them like ‘We’ve gotta beat these guys,’ or what?

Amar’e Stoudemire: Well, anytime you’ve got the same team is the same city, there’s gonna be high expectations for that game… You know, I’ve heard they’ve been talking a little trash a little bit here and there, down in Brooklyn. But again, it’s really all about playing the game and really trying to win. Our goal is to win a championship and if we have to go through Brooklyn, then we have to go through Brooklyn.

The real question, is whether or not they will have to go through Brooklyn.

The teams will square off for the first time on October 24 in Uniondale, New York’s Nassau Coliseum. It will be the final preseason game for each team and will take place eight days before the teams meet in the first game of their respective seasons on November 1.
