The Least You Should Know

Mirza Teletovic had a career night, fueled by an incredible second-quarter run.

In his first six minutes of action, Teletovic went 7-of-7, including 5-of-5 from three-point territory, with three rebounds and a block on Dirk Nowitzki.

Teletovic set a new career-high for a single game with 24 second-quarter points, and he finished with 34 points on 12-of-18 shooting, including 7-of-11 from deep.

Kevin Garnett continued his strong play of late with 10 points and 11 rebounds, his second double-double of the season. KG started 5-of-5 from the field.

Deron Williams had a nice game off the bench, scoring 18 points on 5-of-8 shooting, with a game-high 11 assists and one turnover in 35 minutes of action.

The Nets have certainly played better games over the last few weeks, but the Mavericks did a really good job keeping it close all the way to the end, and Brooklyn was able to hold on for their ninth win in their last 10 games.

Both teams treaded water for most of the second half, with Dallas at one point cutting the Brooklyn lead down to just two. However, Jason Terry was fouled on a three-point attempt on the very next possession, and he converted a four-point play to give the Nets some breathing room. The Mavericks didn’t get any closer until the final seconds when Monta Ellis hit a desperation three, but it just wasn’t quite enough for Dallas.

It wasn’t the prettiest game, but at the end of the day, the Nets found a way to come away with a hard-earned W. There’s certainly no wrong way to win in the NBA.

The Nets will be back in action on Sunday night, when they head to the TD Garden to take on the division-rival Boston Celtics. Tip off is scheduled for 6:30 pm ET.
