Nets On ESPN, All Throughout The Day!

Our friends over at NetsDaily.com got word that the Nets will be featured on ESPN pretty prominently today.

This is yet another sign that things are changing for the franchise.

Only time will tell whether or not it will all come together on the court…

But for now, general manager Billy King and coach Avery Johnson must be pretty happy with the warm reception they’ve received from the local and national media.

“The Nets will be featured all day Tuesday on ESPN’s Sports Center, starting in the 9 a.m. hour. The piece features interviews with players and coach Avery Johnson recorded last Monday at Media Day. The story will replay throughout the day. The last time the Nets were the focus of a SC story was in 2009-10, when they lost 70 games, including 18 straight to start the season.”

This is yet another sign that the times are changing for the Nets. People have been questioning whether or not the New York City market is big enough to support two teams, and I certainly think that it is.

Obviously, the Nets’ primary market is Brooklyn, and at the end of the day, if they remain a losing franchise, the attention and fanfare they’ve received will go away. But if not, they’ll not only rival the Knicks on the court… They’ll also rival them on the back pages and on the television screens.
