The Nets lost to the Celtics tonight by a score of 101-97.
The Least You Should Know
Five Nets players (Tyshawn Taylor – 15, Andray Blatche – 14, Mirza Teletovic – 12, Reggie Evans – 11, Alan Anderson – 11,) scored in double figures in limited minutes.
Shaun Livingston continued his solid point guard play with nine points and five assists in 23 minutes of play.
Jason Terry made his Nets debut playing 24 minutes and going 3-for-7 to score seven points.
Evans played his usual role of reblounding machine and ended with eight rebounds in 16 minutes and went a solid (5-7) from the free throw line.
John Paolantonio, ContributorThis game was over before it began as early in the day Jason Kidd told the media that Brook Lopez and Joe Johnson would not play to get the same rest as Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce.
Without any regular starters playing it was important for certain bench players to showcase their skills and put some good play on film for the coaches to see. Blatche took six 3-pointers which is six more than he should have taken and Teletovic was a non factor for most of the night until he hit a few in the fourth quarter.
The Nets were dominated in the paint (44-30) by a team that does not have a true center on their roster. Vitor Faverani ate up the Nets inside to the tune of 15 points, seven rebounds and six blocked shots in 24 minutes. Inexcusable.
This was a game that did not have the Red Sox fans leaving Fenway Park to come see the Celtics play for sure but the Nets escaped without injury so that is the one good thing that came out of the game.
