There are a number of plausible explanations here—due diligence on the part of the Nets and creating leverage on the part of Brian Shaw are two—but despite the reports from Brian Geltzeiler (yesterday) and the Philadelphia Inquirer (this morning) that say that Jason Kidd’s hiring as the Nets head coach is imminent… The Nets are still interviewing Indiana Pacers associate head coach, Brian Shaw.
Shaw is one of the hottest coaching prospects on the market and is rumored to be the favorite to land the head coaching job of the Los Angeles Clippers. Another familiar face, though, Byron Scott, is being given serious consideration for the Clippers job, as well.
These are very interesting times, indeed.
The Philly Inquirer has Kidd set to ink a 3-year deal with the Nets. With that, off we go to East Rutherford—
