Some thought it would be Mike Woodson getting Eastern Conference Coach of the Month after the #Knicks' unexpected hot start.—

There has been a lot of talk about the coach of the month and it seems like the Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks can’t get out of each other’s way. Avery Johnson coached his Nets to an 11-5 record in the month of November, despite missing Gerald Wallace for seven games.
The Nets, currently the third seed in the NBA’s Eastern Conference, trail the New York Knicks (12-4) and the Miami Heat (12-3).
More on this in a bit…
Moke Hamilton, NBA AnalystIn my opinion, Johnson is the right choice. The Nets lost a few tough games, but also scored some major victories, defeating the Boston Celtics (twice), the Los Angeles Clippers and the New York Knicks, amongst others.
Thus far, the team’s overall performance and record has exceeded expectations and Johnson is a deserving recipient of the award.
